TiBP is mainly used as antifoam agent in various aqueous systems where it has the ability to both destroy foam and act as a foam inhibitor. TiBP has become proven antifoam for paper coating compositions and is used successfully in wetting agent combinations in textile auxiliaries. Other fields of application include concrete additives, glues and adhesives, and drilling fluids. TiBP is a very strong, aprotic, polar solvent. As such, it is also used in the production of solutions of synthetic resins and natural rubber. In both cellulose based plastics and synthetic resins, TIBP is used as a flame retarding plasticizer. |
