Soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform and carbon disulfide
slightly soluble in alcohol and tetrachloromethane
insoluble in water or gasoline. Stable in air. It is prepared through the oxidization of hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite with sodium N-dimethyl-dithiocarbaminate-which is synthesized by dimethylamine hydrochloride and carbon disulfide in sodium hydroxide solution.
