- As donor of CF3CH2- and CF3CH2O-: It is a source of the trifluoromethyl group for various chemical reactions
- Being structure unit in the synthesis of anaesthetics ㄛsuch as Fluroxene, Isoflurane, Desflurane and Flurotyl, Lansoprazole, Flecainide, Quazepam, KMD-3213 and Triflusulfuron-methyl
- As excellent active selected acylation agent ,especially in the optics split and synthesis of amine,

- as working fluid in Rankine cycle engines because of its thermal stability.
