Commercial trichlorosilane (grades A, B) is a major raw material for the production of silicone resins, oligomers and polymers
for preparation of silane adhesive compound, silicic acid ether. After additional purification from micro admixtures it is used for the production of silicon of highest purity (semiconductor). Also applicable in microelectronics. Formula: HSiCl3.
Appearance: colorless or yellow liquid.
Mass part of trichlorosilane: from 98 to 99.8%.
Mass part of admixtures: up to 2% including tetrachlorosilane: from 0.2 to 2%, dichlorosilane: from 0.03 to 0.3%.
Density at 20'C: 1341.7 kg/cm3.
Boiling point: 31.7'C.
Chlorine content: 78.5 mas%.
Formula: HSiCl3.
