The Application of Mica Titanium Pearly Pigments:
1. Coating: pearlescent pigments are suitable for use in the oil-based binder and water-based binder. But it must be cooperated with the raw materials having good transparent, such as nitrocellulose, alkyd, amino, acrylic, polyester synthetic resins, etc. The transparent pigments(dyes)should be chosen for color blending. Notransparent pigments such as titanium dioxide, chrome oxide pigments, iron oxide pigments are not suitable for mixing with pearlescent pigments. The pearlescent pigment needed is in the range of 1-10%(by weight). It can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing and electrostatic spraying etc. The recommended mixing method of pearlescent pigments and binders is as follow: Add the prepared pearlescent pigments, the equal quantity of binder or solvent into a small container, let the pearlescent pigments be wetted fully, to remove the air if pigment particles structure, so as to keep good dispersibility. (color blend or adding additives can be made simultaneously if needed), then stired fully. Notice that the agglomerate particle must be avoided. The slurry is then added into a bigger tank filled binder, stired fully, and filtered with the screen. The stirring machine with high shearing force is not recommended, as it will destroy the pearlescent pigment structure and reduce the gloss.
As the existence of complementary phenomenon, it is not allowed that different color iridescent products are mixed together. Because the characteristics of two-tone effect of the iridescent product, the effect of coating is mostly depended on the choice of the bottom color. 2-10% is suitable for us with powder coatings. Dry blending or spray-drying process is recommended, instead of hot melt process when mixing with plastic powder.

2.Plastic: pearlescent pigments is suitabe for use in the transparent or semi-transparent plastics. The excellent pearl effect is obtained for transparent plastics(such as PVC, PS, etc), and silky pearl effect for semi-transparent plastics(such as PP, PE, etc). Using transparent pigment for color blend is the best choice. Good result can be obtained by using transparent pigments and the use of titanium dioxide, chrome yellow, iron oxide will reduce the pearl gloss. 0.5-1.5% of the pearlescent pigment(by weight) is suitable when use in plastics.
In production, the resin particles are wetted with white spirit or plasticity firstly, add the pearlescent in the last step and stired fully. The high-speed mixing machine is not allowed for use, because its high shearing force will destory the pearlescent pigment structure and the surface gloss. In the production of plastic parts, it is necessary that the materials must be made in pearl master batch in advance to keep good dispersibility. Pearlescent pigment can be blended with resin particles directly, the quantity of pearl master batch used is depended on the quantity of pearlescent pigment, and for the thin film products, the quantity of master batch will be increased correspondly.

3.Cosmatics: pearlescent pigment is not poisonous, may blended in lipstick, eyes-shade, nail oil, powder cake etc. The quantity used depends on what gloss you wanted.

4.Printing and Calico-printing: it may be incorporated with transparent ink or transparent all over color slurry for the printing of paper, packaging materials and textiles and for all over color, coatings. The quantity of pearlescent pigment used is approximately 10-20%. The applied method mentioned above is only for reference
