The Ultranex NP line is comprised of surfactants obtained from the reaction of nonylphenol and ethylene oxide. Depending on the number of ethylene oxide (EO) adducts, products are obtained with different HLB values (hydrophiliclypophilic balance), permitting the choice of a product for each application. Ultranex NP products are non-ionic surfactants the hydrophobe part of the molecule results from nonylphenol and the hydrophilic part results from the ethylene oxide chain. By increasing the number of ethylene oxide units the hydrophilic level of the molecule is also increased (higher HLB), altering the solubility of these products in water as well as their foaming, wetting and detergent powers, permitting these products to be used as emulsifiers, detergents, solubilizers, wetting agents and degreasers. |
