The strongest absorption band of YL-PI 184 is around 260nm, which is useful for clear coating. So YL-PI 184 is a highly efficient photoinitiator for clear coating. YL-PI 184 has however the important advantage of being much more soluble in organic solvents and monomers. This means that a simple liquid additive can be made from photoinitiator. Owing to YL-PI 184 features excellent photo-resistance, it is particularly suitable for non-yellowing UV curing system. The choice of suitable photoinitiator for a specific formulation can only be determined by experimental trials, optimum levels will be influenced by such factors as the thickness of the coating, degree of pigmentation, type of media and so no. Suggested application levels are 2~6%w/w, expressed as a percentage of the total formulation. Application fields include UV curing coating for wood, paper, metal and plastics. |
