Silicone Fluid F-784 is an aminofunctional dimethylpolysiloxane fluid, which is designed to impart both detergent and corrosion resistant properties to automobile polishes. F-784 is insoluble in water, but it can be readily incorporated into emulsion formulations. Unlike most typical aminofunctional silicone fluids, F-784 does not readily gel when added to water. F-784 has been designed to have a slow rate of hydrolosis. This property improves the ease of handling in a manufacturing facility. Blends of Wacker¡¯s silicone fluids are often used in polishes to control rub-out and gloss properties. The ratio to achieve the best rub-out, gloss and detergent resistant properties is best determined by evaluation of the blends in the particular polish formula under consideration. F-784 may provide excellent results by itself or in combination with F-785 aminofunctional silicone fluid and silicone fluid SWS-101. A suggested starting point for a blend would be 5 parts F-785 to 1 part F-784 to 1 part SWS-101 (10,000) fluid. Suggested Starting Formulations : Recorded below are some suggested starting formulations illustrating the use of aminofunctional silicone fluids in detergent resistant car polishes: Detergent Resistant Liquid Car Polish FA 318 |
