Tefzel HT-2127 retains these traditional characteristics of Tefzel resins while providing some new property advantages. The advantages offered by Tefzel HT-2127 include greater flexibility, improved retention of tensile properties at elevated temperatures, reduced flammability, and long-term service life at potentially higher temperatures compared to other Tefzel resins. The upper service temperature for Tefzel HT-2127 will be confirmed by long-term heat aging tests. Until these tests are completed, Tefzel HT-2127 will have the same temperature rating(150'C [302'F]) as other Tefzel resins. Tefzel HT-2127 is expected to find use as insulation for airframe wiring where end users need the basic benefits of Tefzel together with increased flexibility and improved properties at higher temperatures. Flexibility is desirable when end users want ease of handling during maintenance and repair procedures. |
