Nopco 38-C is the sodium salt of a sulfated fatty acid derivative.
It contains two hydrophilic ionizing anionic groups: 1) a sulfate group and 2) a carboxyl group.
Its ionic natrue enables this surfactant to be an efficient emulsifier for emulsion polymerization.
