Silres SY 430 |
|
Silicone Intermediate SILRES SY 430 Silicone Intermediate is a solventfree, hydroxyl functional solid phenyl silicone resin delivered in flake form. As a solid resin, SILRES SY 430 can be easily handled and the choice of solvents is much wider than in the case of the silicone resin solutions currently available. As a pure phenyl silicone resin, SILRES SY 430 has the following advantages over the phenylmethyl silicone resins: * Particularly high heat resistance due to the especially high resistance of the siliconphenyl bond to oxidation. * Excellent compatibility and chemical reactivity with organic polymers. * Excellent pigment wetting which permits the preparation of highly pigmented systems with high gloss, showing excellent gloss retention even at high temperatures. * Minimal thermoplasticity. * Being a silanol functional pure phenyl silicone resin, SILRES SY 430 shows less tendency towards spontaneous intra-molecular curing compared to phenylmethyl silicone resins. This permits cocondensation with polyesters having a high hydroxyl value, while allowing thick films with a high silicone resin content to cure without sudden crosslinking, this eliminates blistering due to the liberation of water during curing. SILRES SY 430 contains those ingredients which conform to the FDA requirements as published in the CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS. |
