Silres 602
High temperature resistant coatings must consist of at least 30% SILRES 602 in combination with heat resistant pigments, extenders, fillers and organic binders. Pigments, fillers and extenders which are normally used in heat resistant coatings are ironoxide black, spinel black, aluminum oxide, titanium (rutile) dioxide, micaceous ironoxide, talc and barium sulfate. The type of organic binder should be carefully selected to maximize heat resistance of the coating. Typical organic binders used are acrylic, epoxy cresol novolac, and polyester-triglycidil isocyanurate. The addition of fumed silica, and aluminumoxide will increase the free flow properties of powder coatings. The former will also act as a charge control additive to increase the transfer efficiency of electrostatic spray.
