Coll-Age
The quest for the secret of youth has long captivated the interest of mankind.
The journey has included elusive fountains, mystical potions and all manner of bizarre rituals.
While, for the most part, these ill-conceived expeditions have been fruitless, some good has resulted.
Failure has helped us realize that there is no magical cure for aging.
And that a more serious, scientific approach is necessary for positive results.
Coll-Age is a product of those efforts.
The usual characteristics of chronologic aging(wrinkling, sagging of the skin, reduced elasticity and recoil) are the result of a complex group of processes taking place at the molecular level.
Recently, through new and more sophisticated approaches in biochemistry and molecular biology, a greater understanding of the chronologic aging process has emerged.
It is now known that chronologic aging manifests itself in alterations in the extracellular matrix, principally in elastin/collagen biosynthesis and glycosaminoglycan deposition.
Of these, collagen glycosylation is of principle importance.
Coll-Age has been developed in an attempt to prevent the formation of advanced glycosylated end products (AGE's).
It is designed to reduce collagen glycosylation by inhibiting specific biochemical pathways that lead to AGE formation while promoting new collagen deposition..
Coll-Age works by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for collagen glycosylation.
This is achieved by chelating out the metals at their active centers and by direct inhibition of their active sites.
In addition, the stimulation of healthy collagen production is also enhanced by the addition of vitamins and amino acids.
