Silbond 50 |
|
SILBOND 50 is one of the most concentrated forms of useable silica of the available ethyl silicate products. It is a partially hydrolyzed mixture of monomers, dimers, trimers, higher polymers and cyclic polysilicates. Average -Si-O-Si- chain length is greater than five (5). It is commonly used as an intermediate towards less concentrated, more highly hydrolyzed binders for a variety of end uses. Like Silbond?Condensed and Silbond?40, this binder is used for inorganic zinc coatings, investment casting molds, cores and ceramic shapes and coatings. Other Silbond Corporation bulletins describing basic chemistry and specific applications of ethyl silicate are available. |
