Uni-Tape
UNI-TAPE is a butyl-backed woven polymer reinforcing fabric designed for application to a wide range of substrates where additional strength is required over seams, splits, transitions, protrusions, etc. UNI-TAPE is easy to use, free from asphalt and solvents, and conforms to all local, state and federal VOC regulations. It develops tenacious adhesion to metal, concrete, smooth masonry and glass. Exterior applications must be topcoated with an appropriate roof elastomer such as ROOF MATE or Roofshield 60, or wall elastomer such as Aquathon or Dura-Tex.
Cut UNI-TAPE to desired length with a knife or scissors. Slowly remove release paper backing and press firmly into place, centering the tape over the crack or seam. Take care to prevent contamination of the butyl adhesive prior to application. Remove any bubbles or buckling by pressing out by hand or utilizing a wallpaper-type roller. Initial bond is immediate. Full bond requires approximately 24 hours.
