SEAMSEAL is a single package, moisture-cured polyurethane sealant manufactured in a workable, flowgrade consistency. Its high solids, non-shrinking characteristics allow SEAMSEAL to effectively seal around drains, scuppers, flashings, vent pipes, HVAC equipment and other protrusions, as well as heavily alligatored areas. It is also an excellent alternative to reinforcing fabric on metal roof applications for waterproofing horizontal seams and sealing around protrusions and fastener heads.
All surfaces must be dry and free of any dirt, dust, grease, oil, pollution fallout and other contamination which may interfere with optimum adhesion. Any primers which are to be utilized on the roof surface should be applied prior to application of any SEAMSEAL. Apply SEAMSEAL in sufficient quantity to encapsulate fastener heads and completely seal the seam, crack or other deficiency being treated, extending the SEAMSEAL 1 to 2 inches on either side of the opening. SEAMSEAL may be pumped into place using high pressure airless equipment fitted with a fan shaped nozzle. A stiff-bristle brush should be utilized for working the SEAMSEAL into seams, cracks, alligatored areas and other deficiencies. On horizontal metal roof seams and other applications where the SEAMSEAL is being used in lieu of reinforcing fabric, the SEAMSEAL should be applied in a minimum 3 to 4 inch strip, 60 to 80 mils thick, centered over the seam. All seams must first be checked to assure that there is no more than ¨ù" deflection when pressure is applied below the seam. Add additional fasteners as necessary to minimize panel deflection. Sealing around protrusions, drains and flashings will require a wider band of sealant. |
