ROOF MATE CAULK is a single package, moisture-cured, non-staining polyurethane sealant manufactured in standard gun grade consistency. A pourable, self-leveling formulation is also available by special order. ROOF MATE CAULK remains permanently resilient with high elongation and recovery properties. It cures at ambient temperatures to a firm, flexible and tear resistant rubber. ROOF MATE CAULK can be used as a caulking and sealing material on concrete, glass, wood, metal and most other traditional roofing surfaces.
ROOF MATE CAULK was specifically developed for use in closing seam joints, sealing around mechanical fasteners, vents, pipes and other protrusions in metal roofing applications. It is also suitable for use on concrete, plywood and built-up decks for crack and seam repair, filling control joints, resealing flashings, drains and other openings in the deck. Surfaces must be dry and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, pollution fallout and other contaminants which may interfere with proper adhesion. Non-porous surfaces such as glass or metal should be solvent-wiped prior to application. Apply ROOF MATE CAULK in sufficient quantity to encapsulate fastener heads and completely seal the seam, crack or joint being caulked, extending the ROOF MATE CAULK 1 to 2 inches on either side of the opening. Polyethylene backer rod or polyurethane foam are recommended as joint fillers and backing materials on large gaps. ROOF MATE CAULK can be applied by caulking gun, and tooled with a trowel or putty knife. Press firmly into cavity to assure a good bond and eliminate air pockets. |
