Water-baed acrylic metal peimer
ACRYLEX 300 is a water-based, single component acrylic primer. It was specifically developed for adhesion to aluminum, steel and galvanized metal surfaces. ACRYLEX 300 dries rapidly, exhibiting excellent solvent resistance, which allows for application of a wide variety of topcoats. It is also an effective shop primer, with exceptional weather resistance. This permits an extended open time prior to application of the desired topcoat. ACRYLEX 300 is a light gray, medium viscosity material. It is easily applied by brush, roller or airless spray, and conforms to all local, state and federal environmental regulations and VOC requirements.
ACRYLEX 300 is used to provide corrosion protection, flash rust resistance and adhesion over steel, aluminum and galvanized metal surfaces. It is an excellent primer for use under acrylic roof coatings, solvent-based industrial finishes and standard paint products. United¡¯s Roof Mate, Diathon, Acryclad and Epoqua II all achieve outstanding adhesion to ACRYLEX 300. ACRYLEX 300 may be applied to sound, lightly (or ¡°flash¡±) rusted surfaces. Areas which exhibit heavy rusting should be primed with United¡¯s Alumiseal. Scaly rusted metal must be brought into sound condition or be replaced. ACRYLEX 300 is also an ideal spot primer over galvanized or previously coated metal surfaces. Since ACRYLEX 300 is unaffected by alkali, it can also be used as a primer over concrete and masonry substrates, as well as sound, previously coated surfaces.
