Halogenated Flame Retardant Great Lakes BC-58 Compacted is a brominated, aromatic flame retardant for thermoplastic resin systems. Compaction of BC-58 allows a low a dusting alternative while maintaining excellent thermal stability, good UV stability and color in the final product. The finishing process used to prepare BC-58 Compacted produces a powder that is uniquely free flowing and low dusting. The flow characteristics of BC-58 Compacted have been measured using the Cain Model for the ANSI/CEMA Standard 550. This model, which was presented at the Powder and Bulk Solids Conference in May of 1998, uses a combination of factors to assess the flow behaviour of solids. (The paper entitled ¡°An Alternative Technique for Estimating ANSI/CEMA Standard 550 Flowability Ratings for Granular Materials¡± was written and presented by Dr. Jim Cain.) A brief definition of each of the factors and how they predict flow behaviour are shown in the flowing tables. |
