Dimethiconol Cysteine |
|
The reactive Dimethyhpolysiloxane fluid provedes polymerization activity on hair. The development of the formation of Dsulfide Linkages, the strength and insolubility of hair Keratin is attributed of its large Cystine content. This Amino Acid contains two Amino and two Carboxyl groups: it can thus enter into two polypeptide chains which are linked together by Disulfide bonds. Of the naturally occrring sulfur-containing amino acids in human hair, half cysteine, with its available sulfhydryl group (-SH), is the most functionally available in the above referenced conditioning sheme, and thus the most likely single moiety to acheive this reaction. Presumably any other moiety that might be connected to cysteine, like silicons, woulk remain covalently bonded to the hair. * Applications: Shampoos, rinse out conditioners, leave in hair conditioners, after permanent wave conditioners, creams and lotions. |
