INVERMUL, a blend of oxidized tall oil and polyaminated fatty acid, is the basic ingredient of Baroid's water-in-diesel oil emulsion drilling fluids. INVERMUL stabilizes emulsion, aids suspension properties, and reduces filtration. INVERMUL is used with lime to produce a calcium soap emulsifier in-situ. *Applications/Functions: Form stable water-in-oil emulsions, Lower filtration rates, Impart high temperature stability to oil-based fluids. *Advantages: Can be added directly to the system, Resists electrolyte contamination |
