CAT - Thin
CAT-THIN, sodium polyacrylate copolymer, disperses reactive clays and shales in CAT-I cationic water-based drilling fluids.
CAT-THIN is readily dispersible in water-based fluids and is thermally stable at temperatures greater than 400'F(205'C).
When rapidly weighting up CAT-I cationic drilling fluids, small amounts of the deflocculant are used to maintain stable rheological properties.
*Applications/Functions: CAT-THIN can be used to reduce rheological properties of CAT-I fluids.
*Advantages: Readily disperses in fluids, Functions well in fresh water and in monovalent and divalent brine systems(sodium chloride, calcium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride), Is thermally stable at temperatures greater than 400'F(205'C), Controls rheological properties while increasing density of CAT-I systems, Environmentally responsible, Controls rheological properties with minimal additions.
Appearance: Pale yellow powder
pH (30% aqueous solution): 6.6
