CAT-HI, modified cellulosic polymer, provides filtration control in CAT-I cationic water-based drilling fluids.
Its high molecular weight provides good filtration control and secondary viscosity in CAT-I systems.
Because it is nonionic, CAT-HI is not affected by the presence of calcium or magnesium.
It is recommended for use where bottomhole temperatures up to 250EF (121EC) are expected.
*Applications/Functions: Provide filtration control in CAT-I cationic water-based drilling fluids, Perform in viscous sweeps for horizontal drilling where brines such as sodium chloride or calcium chloride are used, Provide secondary viscosity in CAT-I drilling fluids.
*Advantages: Maintains filtrate control in seawater CAT-I systems while drilling cement, Requires small concentrations for filtration control, Disperses easily and can be added directly to the active mud system through the mud hopper, Stabilizes in monovalent and divalent brines Is nonfermenting and does not require a bactericide. |
