BARABLOK, a powdered hydrocarbon resin (asphaltite), is a natural bitumen with a high softening point that permits the product to extrude into formation fractures and bedding planes, and bond the matrix to prevent sloughing.
BARABLOK contains no chemical treatment and can be used in water-based or oil-based drilling fluids.
BARABLOK regular can be used with temperatures up to 350'F (177'C).
*Applications/Functions: Stabilize shales, Control fluid loss, Reduce fluid invasion through plugging mechanisms, Minimize differential sticking.
*Advantages: Does not fluoresce, Improves fluid loss control, Provides optimum sealing and filtercake deposition, Mixes easily with water-based and oil-based fluids, Minimizes differential sticking. |
