Hyflon PFA
Hyflon MFA and PFA are semicrystalline fully-fluorinated melt processable fluoropolymers which offer the highest temperature rating, and broadest chemical resistance of all melt processable fluoropolymers.
They are an ideal choice for extreme thermal and chemical environments.
The outstanding combination of thermal and electrical properties makes these materials particularly suitable for the plenum wire and cable industry for the insulation of high temperature cables, heating cables and signal wires.
Hyflon resins are the result of Ausimont¡¯s technical leadership in specialty fluorinated monomers, the building blocks used in polymer production.
Hyflon MFA is the most recently commercialized fluoropolymer by Ausimont.
As defined in ASTM D 6314, MFA belongs to the class of PFA (perfluoroalkoxy), having a lower melting point than standard PFA grades.
The unique chemistry of MFA allows for a very cost competitive product, giving improved economics whenever PFA type performance is required.
In addition, Hyflon MFA can offer specific advantages over standard higher melting PFAs, such as higher transmittance in a wide range of light wavelengths (up to 30% in the UV region) and higher surface smoothness.
In particular, Hyflon PFA and MFA show the best permeation resistance compared to competitive products.
Hyflon grades are available in different physical forms including pellets, powders for electrostatic coating and rotomolding/rotolining, and liquid dispersions for coating and impregnation.
