R-Flam 7(ii)
R-Flam 7(ii) is a masterbatch specifically designed for use in extruded or suspension polymerised polystyrene.
This product has a relatively small processing window but can be used in solid polystyrene resin applications if processing conditions are suitably controlled.
R-Flam 7(ii) contains a high amount of aliphatic bromine which results in a low melting point and this leads to a minimal effect on the physical properties of the formulated systems.
It is possible to achieve transparent flame retarded formulations using R-Flam 7(ii).
R-Flam 7(ii) offers a competitive and convenient method of flame retarding where powder handling may pose health concerns.
*Typical Applications:
GPPS: Extruded profiles - No powder handling problems
HIPS: Computer parts - Improved Mouldability
Nylons: Electrical, automotive - minimal effect on physical properties.
