BLACK PEARLS 120 is a general purpose low color pigment black suitable for a broad range of tinting applications. Easy to disperse, this economical pigment black can allow higher loadings in most systems.
* Printing Inks: BLACK PEARLS 120 offers very blue undertone and high loading opportunities as well as excellent rub resistance, good viscosity and flow properties. It is a general-purpose pigment black that is broadly applicable in a variety of different printing inks.
* Plastics: BLACK PEARLS 120 is a cost effective opacifying agent for film applications requiring low to medium weatherability. It is also recommended for smooth surface utility pipe.
* Coatings: This pigment black can used in a variety of coatings applications. It is recommended for underbody/underhood automotive, general industrial, or architectural trade sales applications where high jetness is not required. It is also recommended for use as a tinting black since the large particle size allows for high loading and helps to reduce problems with floating and flooding in liquid coating tinting applications. It can be dispersed using a high speed disperser or sandmill for liquid coatings or a single screw extruder for powder coatings.
* Other Applications: In addition to the applications listed above, this product is commonly used as a pigment in Concrete & Cement, General Dispersions, and Paper applications.
The dispersibility of BLACK PEARLS 120 pigment black depends on the equipment used and the formulation. Like most low color pigment blacks, it exhibits the same ease of dispersion because of its relatively large particle size.
BLACK PEARLS 120 is a pelleted pigment black with a typical bulk density of 32 lbs/ft 3 (512 kg/m3). It is also available in an easier to disperse powdered form as MONARCH 120. |
