High molecular weight wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-based coatings.
It prevents reflocculation of pigments through steric hindrance and therefore stabilizes the color strength and hue of pigments in paints and pigment concentrates.
Disperbyk-2050 improves pigment wetting, reduces the time required for the grinding process and improves gloss and levelling.
Viscosity is reduced and thixotropy is avoided.
The additive charges the pigments equally and therefore prevents possible co-flocculation of different pigments.
Due to its high molecular weight and resin-like structure, Disperbyk-2050 does not influence paint binder durability.
Additional to the desired pigment stabilization, Disperbyk-2050 reduces the millbase viscosity significantly, thus enabling the formulation of highly filled pigment concentrates without any problems.
Disperbyk-2050 is a dispersing additive for resin containing and resin-free solvent-based pigment concentrates as well as for industrial coatings.
With this additive resin-free pigment concentrates for medium to high polar resin and paint systems can be produced.
To avoid drying of the pigment concentrate during storage, a higher boiling solvent should be used in the formulation. |
