Disperbyk-2000 |
Modified acrylate block copolymer |
The high molecular weight Disperbyk-2000 deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. It provides electrical charge to pigments and thus avoids possible co-flocculation of pigments that are not equally charged. Due to the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, high gloss is achieved and color strength improved. Additionally, transparency and hiding power are increased. The additive reduces viscosity, subsequently, levelling is improved and higher pigment loading is possible. Disperbyk-2000 is especially suitable for CAB-contaning base-coats and all topcoats. It prevents reflocculation of pigments even following the addition of CAB after grinding. Millbase viscosity is reduced, especially for organic pigments. To achieve the optimum viscosity reduction, it is recommended to use polar solvents in the millbase. To achieve best grinding results, it is not necessary to use CAB in the millbase. |
