Wetting and dispersing additive to improve pigment wetting, reduce the time required for the grinding process and stabilize the pigment dispersion.
Flooding and floating is prevented and gloss is improved.
Disperbyk-181 is used as a wetting additive in flat, semi-gloss and gloss emulsion paints, water reducible paint systems and solvent-based paints.
In emulsion paints, storage stability (gloss, levelling) is improved in tinting systems, color acceptance and color development is increased.
Normally Disperbyk-181 is used in emulsions in combination with a dispersing additive such as BYK-154 and BYK-156.
Disperbyk-181 reduces the flash rust tendency in emulsion paints.
In solvent-based systems, reduction of sedimentation is observed. |
