Disperbyk-169 |
Solution of a High molecular weight block copolymer with pigment affinic groups |
The high molecular weight Disperbyk-169 deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. It provides electrical charge to pigments and thus avoids possible co-flocculation of pigments that are not equally charged. Due to the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, high gloss is achieved and color strength improved. Additionally, transparency and hiding power are increased. The additive reduces viscosity, subsequently, levelling is improved and higher pigment loading is possible. Disperbyk-169 is a polar version of Disperbyk-161. This additive was especially developed for two-component systems where the resin(s) have OH-values greater than 200, (for example, high solids aircraft coatings). |
