Disperbyk-107 |
Solution of a hydroxyfunctional carboxylic acid ester with pigment affinic groups |
Wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-based and solvent-free coatings to improve pigment wetting, reduce the time required for the grinding process and stabilize the pigment dispersion. Deflocculation of the pigments improves gloss and levelling and prevents flooding/floating. The additive reduces viscosity and avoids thixotropy. Disperbyk-107 was especially developed for solvent-based architectural paints to stabilize titanium dioxide, extenders and other inorganic and organic pigments. Often the extender content can be increased without losing gloss. Millbase viscosity is reduced drastically. White base paints stabilized with Disperbyk-107 have better color acceptance and do not demonstrate floooding and floating when tinted with universal colorants. Disperbyk-107 is suitable to formulate pigment concentrates based on long oil alkyds. |
