Solution of a polyeher-polyester modified hydroxy functional polydimethylsiloxane |
|
Reactive silicone surface additive for use in aqueous systems with a low amount of co-solvent. It is also suitable for solvent-based and solvent-free systems. The additive orients to the paint surface, reacts via its primary OH-groups with the binder and is thus fixed at the paint surface. It is preferably used in crosslinking systems and can react into the following binder systems two-pack polyurethanes, alkyd/melamine, polyester/melamine, acrylic/melamine, acrylate/epoxy-combinations. In comparison to conventional non-reactive silicones, it provides more permanent surface properties (such as improved slip, solvent resistance, weather resistance, anti-blocking and less dirt retention) when crosslinked to the paint surface by its reactive groups. BYK-375 additionally reduces surface tension and consequently improves substrate wetting it improves levelling and prevents Beard cells. If this additive is used in paint systems in which the reactive groups are crosslinked into the polymer network, please note the following: Before recoating, the surface has to be sanded carefully and uniformly to ensure sufficient adhesion. |
