BYK_346 |
Solution of a polyether modified dimethylpolysiloxane |
Silicone surfactant for aqueous systems. It provides strong reduction in surface tension which leads to excellent substrate wetting and levelling. The additive causes no foam stabilization. It does not increase surface slip and does not impair recoatability. If higher surface slip is required, the additional usage of BYK-307 or BYK-333 is recommended. BYK-346 is the standard additive to improve substrate wetting in aqueous systems. It exhibits its optimum efficiency in systems containing 3-7% co-solvent on the total formulation. If higher levels of co-solvents are present, the polymeric silicone additives such as BYK-307 and BYK-333 are more effective. If the co-solvent content is lower, BYK-348 is recommended. The solvent-free version of BYK-346 is available as BYK-345. |
