EFKA-3888 |
Polyisocyanate modified polysiloxane |
EFKA-3888 is a polysiloxane modified polyisocyanate designed to crosslink with hydroxyl or carboxyl groups. EFKA-3888 is compatible with most polyisocyanates e.g. Desmodur N, L, IL, HL and similar products. The addition of EFKA-3888 in polyurethane lacquers or coatings give the following advantages: -improved leveling -reduced tendency for orange-peel or cratering -improved slip and surface smoothness, these improvements are more permanent, as the additives cross-link to form part of the final film -reduced surface tension with little or no foam formation -prevention of B?ard cells * Application: EFKA-3888 is a cross-linking additive, designed for all polyurethane systems, both two-component and moisture-curing. It must be added to the polyisocyanate solution in two component systems. EFKA-3888, especially developed for use in metal coatings, improves leveling and surface smoothness and results in faster scratch resistance during the initial drying stage. Since EFKA-3888 actually takes part in the cross-linking action and forms an integral part of the finished polymer, the slip and scratch resistance properties are more permanent compared with normal additives. |
