BYK 023 is used as defoamer in aqueous printing inks, gloss and semi-gloss lacquers and hybrid systems.
The additive has a very good defoaming action, good storage stability and does not show gloss reduction after storage.
Normally, the defoamer is added during letdown.
Adding it in two separate phases (2/3 of the defoamer in the mill-base, 1/3 during letdown or in the finished paint) is a procedure often found useful. |
