BYK 020 is used as defoamer in dispersion lacquers and water-soluble printing ink systems.
The additive prevents formation of foam and bubbles during processing of the aqueous printing inks.
To achieve full effectiveness, the defoamer should be added prior to the grinding process.
If added during a later stage, the used shear forces must be high enough to ensure good distribution of the defoamer so as to prevent cratering.
The full effect of the defoamer is achieved 24 hours after incorporation into the system. |
