AKRO-MAG BARS Green Label MgO |
|
AKRO-MAG are a new form of magnesium oxide. The bar is a dispersion of naphthenic process oil, with the magnesium oxide powder having a typical Iodine absorption figure of 115 on the Morton Activity Index. The Morton Activity Index measures the weight in milligrams of a unimolecular layer of Iodine absorbed on one gram of Magnesium Oxide from a 0.1N Iodine Carbon Tetrachloride solution. The properties of activity and particle size of the magnesia are the most important characteristics in determining the final properties of the vulcanized polychloroprene, Hypalon and fluoroelastomers. The three Akrochem MgO Bar Grades (Blue, Yellow, and Green) offer a choice of MgO activity and price. Blue offers the most active grade and thus the most scorch resistance in halogenated polymers like polychloroprene. Green bar offers a less active grade MgO that results in faster scorch and cures times similar to a competitive product, Scorchgard "O". Yellow Bar falls in between the Blue and Green Bars. |
