Akrosperse and Akroform Resorcinol-80/EPR, and Resorcinol-40/NR are polymeric dispersions of Resorcinol (1,3-Dihydroxybenzene).
Resorcinol is typically used with hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) or other methylene donors along with silica to make rubber-to-fabric adhesion possible.
Resorcinol flakes or powder require high temperatures to achieve good dispersion: the masterbatch form allows lower temperature addition, reducing sublimation and improving adhesion.
Normal dosage for fabric adhesion is 2.4 phr active resorcinol along with 1.6 phr active HMT. |
