Aztec PMBP-50-PSI |
|
Aztec PMBP-50-PSI is a white, smooth, stiff paste of 50% di(4-methylbenzoyl) peroxide, desensitized with silicone oil. This peroxides is classified as a diaroyl peroxide and is used as a source of radicals in the crosslinking of polymers above 110'C, particularly silicone rubber (VMQ). Aztec PMBP-50-PSI peroxide is used as a catalyst for crosslinking a variety of synthetic rubbers, primarily silicone, at temperatures from 110'C to 130'C under pressure or from 150'C to 400'C without pressure. At below 80'C no premature crosslinking occurs. Typical loading is 1-2%w/w as supplied. Post curing is recommended to remove acidic decomposition biproducts and improve heat aging properties. This peroxide system is sensitive to carbon black. A special advantage of this cross-linker is the its decomposition products do not contain chlorine, i.e. polychlorinated biphenyls. Also, bubble-free vulcanizates can be obtained, even when curing without pressure. |
