Bisomer EGDMA |
Ethyleneglycol Dimethacrylate |
Bisomer EGDMA is a low viscosity, high boiling point di-functional methacrylate coagent/monomer, which is used to improve peroxide efficiency and increase crosslink density in peroxide cured elastomers. Bisomer EGDMA can be utilized in all rubber formulations where peroxide is used as the vulcanizing agent. Using Bisomer EGDMA will provide the following benefits: lower compression set, higher modulus, higher hardness, lower compound viscosity and improved oil, fuel, and chemical resistance. Typical dosage range is 0.5 to 25 phr. Less peroxide may be used to achieve the same state-of-cure when adding Bisomer BGDMA, due to suppressing the number of negative side chain reactions such as: betascission and disproportionation, which are detrimental to elastomeric properties. The highest levels are used to make easier processing, high durometer (Shore D) stocks. |
