Accelerator MBT, MBT/MG |
|
A very active non-discoloring organic accelerator, active above 230'F. Requires zinc oxide, fatty acid and sulfur. May produce scorch at processing temperatures, but additional processing safety can be obtained by the use of Retarder BA, Retarder AK, or Retarder SAFE. Excellent as primary accelerator in slower curing polymers like EPDM and Butyl. MBT is activated by aldehyde amines, dithiocarbamates, alkaline and basic materials in general, guanidines, and thiurams. Activated MBT may be scorchy. MBT/MG Microgranules is a wax-coated prill for non-dusting and ease of handling. |
