Alcogum L-37 |
|
ALCOGUM L-37 is a reactive, acidic thickening agent of the type commonly referred to as an in-situ thickener. It is supplied as a stable anionic milky white liquid latex emulsion. The addition of any of a variety of alkaline agents results in the neutralization of the acidic groups and the formation of a clear, viscous solution. This solution is an effective thickener for many systems, including various synthetic latexes, latex compounds and latex coatings. In paper coating colors, ALCOGUM L-37 develops low shear viscosity effectively while also building water retention. ALCOGUM L-37 also contributes to higher Hercules high shear viscosity. For neutralization purposes, ALCOGUM L-37 has an equivalent weight of 23.4(a). |
