Antimony Trioxide/Olefin Wax Granule Fyrebloc 400 is a granular combination of antimony trioxide bound in an olefinic wax carrier - High loading of active antimony trioxide at 90% by weight. - Very low dusting thereby improved plant hygiene. - Universal end applications where polymers are compounded by hot extrusion. - Faster product changeover and reduced cleanup costs. - Increased production rates and reduced handling costs. Fyrebloc 400 is recommended as a flame retardant for use in chlorinated polymers and rubbers such as rigid and plasticised PVC, neoprene and chlorinated polyethylene compounded by hot extrusion. In non-halogenated polymers such as polyolefins and styrenics a co-used brominated compound is used to confer flame retardancy via a free radical trap mechanism in the flame. Great Lakes have developed granular Fyreblocs containing antimony trioxide and selected brominated compounds for these applications (please refer to Fyreblocs 210/211 and 500). For additional information regarding these products or Fyrebloc technology, please contact your Great Lakes Polymer Additives Sales Representative. |
