| PX-504, Dibutyl Maleate, is used as a comonomer with a variety of other monomers to form resins for use in emulsion coatings, plastisols, adhesives, oil additives and synthetic lubricants. Copolymers of vinyl acetate and dibutyl maleate in an aqueous emulsion form are excellent vehicles for interior and exterior paints. Dibutyl maleate is used where improvement is required ' in flexibility, resistance to humidity and to ultra-violet light, stain removability and adhesion. The advantage over an externally modified latex is that the plasticizerdoes not exude or evaporate upon weathering or-aging. PX-504 is a clear liquid that contains no polymerization inhibitors. Due to its high purity, it has excellent shelf life. |
