PX-316, a mixed n-hexyl, n-octyl,rt-decyl phthalate, is an efficient primary plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride resins and copolymers, Mixed Normal Alkyl Phthalate PX-316 is equivalent to such materials as n-octyl, n-decyl phthalate while at the same time offering considerable cost savings to the vinyl formulator. It imparts superior low temperature flexibility to vinyl compositions, and demonstrates excellent light and heat stability, aswell as low volatility. Addition of PX-316 to plastisolsand organosols improves initial viscosity and leads to longer shelf life. Recommended for use in sheeting, film, extrusions, and dispersions where low temperature properties are important, and where good compatibility and good volatility characteristics are required. It also imparts good hand, drape and clarity. Compatible with nitro cellulose, ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, cellulose-acetate butyrate, poly vinyl butyrate, acrylonitrile rubber, chlorinated rubber, neoprene, and methylmethacrylate in addition to vinyl chloride and chloride acetate copolymer resins. It is not compatible with GR-S rubber, polyvinyl acetate or cellulose acetate. |
