PX-212, Mixed Normal Alkyl Adipate, is aprimary plasticizer for use in polyvinyl chloride and vinyl-acetate copolymer resins. In vinyl formulations PX-212 exhibits superior low temperature properties, greater heat and light stability and lower water extraction values than the similar branch chained adipates. Mixed Normal AlkylAdipate Rapid plasticizing action and plastisol viscosity stability makes mixed normal alkyl adipate ideal for use in dispersions, sheeting, film and extrusions. Low temperature vinyl formulations containing PX-212 find application in automotive accessories, flexible hose and tubing, gasketing, and jacketing. PX-212 is suggested for use in plastisols and organosols since the initial viscosity and viscosity stability characteristics are excellent. The addition of relatively small amounts of mixed normal alkyl adipate to a dispersion will materially improve the rheological properties. PX-212 is also compatible with nitrocellulose, polystyrene, methacrylate resins, ethyl cellulose and synthetic rubbers. |
