OMYACARB 12, one of a series of beneficiated, high calcium limestone products, produced by Omya, Inc., has a closely controlled particle size distribution with a low fraction of fines. The absence of extremely fine particles in OMYACARB 12 produces a product with unusually low oil absorption properties or binder demand compared to other grades of carbonate. OMYACARB 12 provides good "mix-in" characteristics in various resins and has been found to be a very valuable ingredient in low viscosity plastisols, blown plastisols, foam rubber compositions, heavy gauge supported PVC and PVA paste type spackles and joint cements. OMYACARB 12 is used to reduce angular sheen in various high pigment volume concentration coatings. Approvals: Food Chemicals Codex - OMYACARB 12 meets the requirements listed under "Limestone Ground" in the Food Chemicals Codex and is approved for functional use in foods. |
