Applications: Halogenated flame-retardants added to protect polymers such as polyolefins and styrenics tend to discolor and to cause equipment corrosion during processing. MIXXIM T-18A, when used at the recommended use levels, enhances thermal and color stability of flame-retardant systems and affords protection against corrosion. The suggested MIXXIM T-18A use level will vary, normally between 0.1% to 0.5% byweight, depending upon the amount or type of flame-retardant additive being incorporated into the system. Advantages: MIXXIM T-18A provides protection against metal corrosion in the flame-retardant system at the recommended levels of use. MIXXIM T-18A enhances thermal and color stability of the F-R system at recommended use levels. MIXXIM T-18A has excellent compatibility with polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrenes used in the manufacture of flame-retardant systems. Easily incorporated into the producti MIXXIM T-18A provides excellent dispersion at normal manufacturing temperatures. MIXXIM T-18A is recommended for evaluation in the following flame- retardant applications: 1 ) High or low density polyethylenes - Wire and cable, injected molded parts, Extruded parts, Electrical applications 2) Polypropylene homopolymers and copolymers - Wire insulation, Electronic parts and housings, Injection molded parts, Extruded sheet and shapes 3) Polystyrene - Transparent or opaque injection molded parts, Opaque extruded shapes |
