Silicone levelling additive with defoaming action.
It improves the surface properties of solvent-based and solvent-free coatings, with particular emphasis upon levelling.
In contrast to most silicone additives it acts in a defoaming fashion (i.e., no or only slight foam stabilization), depending on the polarity of the paint system.
BYK-323 increases surface slip and thus improves scratch and mar resistance.
Formation of Benard cells is prevented and orientation of flatting agents and aluminum flakes is improved.
Even in difficult to flat high-solid systems, this additive does not lead to shining up.
In flow coat systems, BYK¢ç-323 stabilizes the curtain.
BYK-323 is heat resistant at baking temperatures up to 250'C / 480'F and does not decrease intercoat adhesion when overcoated. |
